    Hi everyone!

I have the idea that we could do something like a brown bag lunch, regularly, with various guest speakers there to discuss their careers, or maybe even guest speakers from area employers (like Paycom, Johnson Controls, Hitachi, whatever is available or that people are interested in) to come talk about the kinds of jobs they employ. I even have a list of people I could reach out to who would be willing to speak if it fits their schedule. I’ve discussed this idea with other group members before and it seems like there’s at least some interest.

HOWEVER…I have been struggling to choose a day, time, frequency, and exact format/what to ask of potential speakers. Does anyone have ideas or want to help make it happen? I would love to partner with someone else who’s interested in this kind of project–low prep on our part but could be fun and informative for our kids as they grow and learn about what jobs are out there in the world and what kind of skills are needed. Even if you could just say when your teen would be available for such a thing (Friday lunch maybe?) or what kinds of people/groups you’d be interested in including or hearing from, that would be helpful.

Please let me know! I would love for this to be a semester-long series of events but need help to make it happen. Thanks in advance!

I love this idea! Scheduling will be a big challenge; maybe there’s a way we can take a poll with the options you have right now?

It would be neat to have a variety of formats: brown bag lecture/Q&A, panel Q&A featuring jobs in the same field (ie: medical, military, education).
Those are just a couple of ideas.
